How to Prepare for Your Curly Haircut at Curl Rituals
At Curl Rituals, we specialize in cutting curls in their most natural state. To ensure you get the best possible results — and to respect your stylist’s time and your appointment — we ask all clients to follow these curly haircut preparation requirements before your visit:
1. Come with a Fresh Wash-N-Go
Please arrive with your hair in a Wash-N-Go style, using minimal styling products.
-
No heavy oils, butters, gels, or creams.
-
Your hair should be styled as it naturally dries — with your natural curl pattern visible and defined.
This helps your stylist see your true curl pattern for a precise and customized dry curly cut.
2. Cleanse & Clarify Your Hair
Make sure your hair is freshly washed, clarified, and free of product build-up before your appointment.
-
Avoid heavy conditioners, leave-ins, or styling products that may coat your curls.
-
Use a clarifying shampoo if needed.
3. Fully Detangle Your Hair
Hair must be fully detangled before you arrive.
-
Detangle thoroughly from roots to ends with conditioner before rinsing out.
-
If your hair is not properly detangled, a $50 detangling fee may apply.
-
Please note, detangling may take up your scheduled service time, and we may need to reschedule your appointment if your hair is not prepared.
4. No Braids, Protective Styles, or Updos
Your curls should be loose, down, and in their natural form.
-
Remove all braids, twists, weaves, or protective styles before your appointment.
-
Do not arrive with your hair in buns, ponytails, headbands, clips, or under hats or scarves.
5. Arrive with Completely Dry Hair
We perform dry cutting on curls. Your hair must be 100% dry upon arrival to allow for an accurate curl-by-curl cut.
Why Is Hair Preparation So Important for a Curly Cut?
Properly prepared hair ensures:
-
An accurate assessment of your natural curl pattern
-
The best possible shaping and cutting results
-
A smooth, efficient appointment experience
Please Note:
Failure to follow these preparation steps may result in extra charges or require us to reschedule your appointment. We want to deliver the best curly haircut experience — and that starts with the right prep!
How to Prepare for Your Hair Color Appointment at Curl Rituals
At Curl Rituals, we proudly use Oligo Professionnel — an ammonia-free, gentle hair color system that prioritizes the health of your hair while delivering beautiful, long-lasting results. To ensure your color service goes smoothly and you achieve the best outcome, please follow these important hair color preparation guidelines:
1. Arrive with Clean, Product-Free Hair
Your hair should be free of heavy styling products, oils, butters, gels, and creams.
-
Avoid layering products leading up to your appointment.
-
Build-up from styling products can create a barrier and affect how the color processes on your hair.
2. No Temporary Color Concealers or Root Touch-Up Products
Please do not use any color-correcting or concealing products prior to your color service, including:
-
Color mascaras
-
Root touch-up sprays or powders
-
Hairline concealers or makeup
These products can interfere with color absorption, potentially causing uneven color results or unwanted reactions.
3. Detangle Your Hair Before You Arrive
Hair must be fully detangled from roots to ends.
-
Detangle gently before your appointment to prevent service delays.
-
If your hair is tangled upon arrival, a detangling fee may apply or we may need to reschedule your appointment.
4. Come with Dry Hair
We apply color on completely dry hair for best results.
-
Please ensure your hair is fully dry before your service.
Why Hair Color Preparation Matters
Proper preparation helps us achieve:
-
Even color application
-
Consistent coverage from roots to ends
-
The healthiest, most vibrant color result possible
Important Reminder:
Failure to follow these guidelines may result in additional fees or require us to reschedule your appointment. We want every client to enjoy a seamless, professional hair color experience at Curl Rituals.
